These pages are simply a pictorial collection tracing Women's fashions through the ages to assist you in beginning your research. There are many eras, cultures and civilizations not included in my pages. I will focus on the US and Europe and on the periods I have *some* experience in. Only primary period sources are used and shown on these pages to ensure accuracy. My collection of fashion plates, patterns, periodicals, catalogs and advertising are the main sources for info from the 19th century and later. The 18th century and earlier is derived from paintings, books and extant museum pieces.

I do not own all the images and many were found in the public domain. Images that are my personal property have my name on them.
