(When using a GPS or mapping program you may have difficulty locating my street. My street has a few different spellings but is commonly referred to as Boulevard East in my neighborhood. Other spellings to try are; JFK Blvd. East , Kennedy Blvd E or JF Kennedy Blvd E. Just be sure not to go to any version of Kennedy Boulevard without the East, it is an entirely different street. Sorry it is so confusing, the town made it that way.)

By public transportation from NYC (four options):
  • From the Port Authority bus terminal take a NJ transit bus from gate #212 to Boulevard East & 62nd street. There are several bus lines which share the gate and stop across the street from my building. I do not remember all the numbers but it does include bus routes 166, 165 and 164. It is a two zone fare and should cost about $2.50 each way. Purchase your ticket before you get on the bus at the NJ transit counter or ticket machines. Ask for route 166, two zone, one-way or round trip. (You can use that ticket on any # bus route. It is the two zone part which matters most). Buses run about every 5-20 minutes and it is a 10-20 minute bus ride normally. This is the mode of public transportation I most recommend for comfort and reliability.

  • Or... you can take the $2.50 shuttle bus from 42nd street (between 8th & 9th ave). Busses board between Kaufman's Army/Navy and the Burger King. Ask for the "Boulevard East" bus. A warning though, these busses are truly no frills. They have no climate control, tight seating and occasionally crazy drivers. You are required to call out when you want the bus to stop so you would need to watch the street numbers for 62nd street. The bus will not depart 42nd street until it is full so in the off hours you may be sitting there a while.

  • Or......you can take the ferry and a local car service. The ferry is $6.75 and the car service from the ferry to my house is another $6.50. So this is the most expensive option. But if there is traffic in the Lincoln tunnel it makes life sooo much easier. The ferry is a quick and lovely ride and there is a taxi stand there at the terminal to take you to my house.  You can take a taxi to the ferry terminal at 40th street and the West Side Highway or one of the NY Waterways busses which run along 57th, 50th, 42nd, 34th and 23rd streets. Waterways busses to the ferry are free. Once in the terminal purchase a one way ticket to Port Imperial/ Weehawken (you would probably be better off returning to NYC by one of the above two busses). Once off the ferry exit the terminal to your left and head to the taxi stand. You are going to Boulevard East & 63rd street, is should cost $6 or $6.50, confirm the price with the driver before you go.

  • Or.... I can have a car service pick you up and bring you to me. I like to use a local company called "Rose" it costs in total about $50-$55 each way for pick-up or drop-off between midtown NYC  and West New York, NJ. Not at all a cheap option but very relaxing to sit in comfort and be driven to your destination.

  • Or... you can try to convince a NYC yellow taxi to come to me but they usually refuse to go to New Jersey unless you pay an outrageous price. I don't really consider this an option but people always ask.
