Kid Fitting brand corset style #778
19" Waist / 30" bust
Constructed of 9 pattern pieces per side; 4 of which are gores (two bust and two hip per side). Fabric is a single layer of black sateen. Seams are flat felled with applied interior bone casing over a one inch waist tape.
Corset has 13 bones per side two of which are the 1/2" wide side steels. All bones are steel. A decorative black lace trim is featured on both the upper and lower edges with a cream silk ribbon insertion ribbon running through.
The tabs extending at the lower center front were for attaching pin-on detachable garters onto. This was a common feature in early Edwardian corsets, before built in garters became common in corsets.
Center front length of 12.5" with a 11" busk. Center back length of 11" with 15 evenly spaced grommets per side.
