A sweet late Victorian under-bust corset
The busk clasps on this corset have the image of a crown stamped on them and a patent date of February 9, 1897 24" waist Constructed with a total of 4 pattern pieces per side. Fabric is a single layer of white cotton jean with seams turned to the interior and covered in cotton tape. 16 bones per side set in singular exterior bone casings. All boning is steel. 1.25" wide beading lace trim on upper and lower edges. The ribbon insertion is not original.
Center front length of 10.5" with a 10" busk. Center back length of 9" with 11 grommets per side evenly spaced at .75" apart. Lacing is original but broken.
