"Izod's Patent Molded Sewn Corset"

Inventory #0092

Such a pretty little thing!

This corset was made by the company Izod in the 19th century. It is constructed from a layer of black cotton sateen over a white lining (most Victorian black colored corsets were lined in white).  The baleen bones are sewn between the two layers within sewn channels, some on the seams. Corset has a 10.25" Center front length, 11" if you include the lace trim. 9.50" strait busk is not dished. The center back is 10.25" in length, 11" if you include the lace trim. There are 14 eyelets per side. Corset's waist measures 19".

I am not quite sure where to date this corset just yet. It may be 1860s or late 1890s.
