Lara's Antique Corset Collection

1899 Warner's Corset

Inventory # 0088

Warner's corset style # 54  with a 20" waist (it is stamped 19 but actually measures closer to 20").

Interior is stamped " Warner's 54, boned with rust proof, medium waist".

Fabric is a lovely Robin's egg blue damask with delicate lace trim on both the top and bottom edges.

See the October 1899 ad below for a Warner's corset which looks very much like this one.

Corset is constructed of a single layer of fabric, 6 pattern pieces per side with bone casings of cotton twill applied to the interior. 13 bones per side, each single in a casing. Bones are metal, a thinner more flexible version of our modern enameled steel bones. Edges are bias bound beneath the lace trim.

measures 33" bust, 20" waist, 12" busk within a 13" center front length.  12.25" center back length with 13 grommets per side.

Grommets are evenly spaced 7/8" apart.

The antique dressform the corset is displayed on measures 37" bust, 22" waist, 40" full hip
