Thompson's Glove Fitting Corset

by Langdon & Batcheller's

"Extra Long"  with 20" waist

Busk clasp is stamped "LB CO"

Stamped "Pat June 15 1881"

Constructed of 4 pattern pieces per side, one of which is a bust gore. Fabric is a single layer of grey colored coutil cut with the grain of the fabric running horizontally, around the body. Seams are sewn towards the interior and covered with an applied tan cotton twill tape. There is no waist tape, the cut of the corset prevents the need for one.

Corset has tan polished cotton bone casings applied to the exterior. 17 bones per side two of which are 1/2" wide.  Grey colored flossing on the upper part of most bone casings only.

Center front length of 14.5" with a 13.5" dished busk. Center front also features a steel .75" wide by 13.5" long dished under busk to strengthen the center front. Center back length of 13.75" with 17 evenly spaced  grommets per side. The lace trim sticks up 1/2" past the measurements I provide.
