American Beauty corset style #643 over-bust corset with it's original box.
"High bust, Long hips" The high bust of this corset is a bit rare. Most corsets of this period were cut to just below the bust. The corset manufacturers made many different types to suit individual tastes.
Corset is constructed from a single layer of cotton with bone casings applied to the inside over a one inch waist tape. This corset was washed with an oxygen type cleaner. Such cleaners do very well with whitening cottons, however, the 92 year old rust trapped within the bone casings was released with the water. I do not know how to remove the rust stains. Please do not wash your antique corset.
